  • Socrates Sculpture Park is an unlikely green space at the nexus of the Harlem and East Rivers. As such, it deserves a unique welcome booth that complements the sensory experiences on offer at the park.

The Fractal Group designed an entry kiosk that acts as a kind of lighthouse, where visitors can ask questions and get information from on site volunteers, climb a built-in stairway to obtain a view of the park’s sculptures with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop, or interact with a wall map comprised of moveable panels that are illuminated by the kinetic energy created as visitors ascend the stairs above it.  In this way, the kiosk is itself a functional work of art.
